However, we do NOT accept: old newspapers, school\/college textbooks of any kind, magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, or anything that is wet, bug-ridden, smelly or moldy. If you need a tax receipt, just ask at the front desk when dropping off your items.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Occasionally, the library will be unable to accept donations due to space issues. Please call first before dropping off any donations.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>What do we do with the donated books?<\/b><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sometimes we add donated books to our collection. This is done at the librarian\u2019s discretion. Other books in usable condition are added to our book sale in the back of the library. Funds from the book sale are used to purchase new items for our collection.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Please do NOT leave donations outside the library!<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ONLY<\/span><\/strong> accept donations during open hours. Books left outside often need to be thrown away after being exposed to the elements. Funds can be donated to the Library&#8217;s general operations or may be designated for a particular area of interest.
